Preview of New Characters

The Sea of Moons, The Valley Part 3, Odin has updated.

Thought I'd just toss out a couple of test shots of future characters from Sea of Moons:

This is an early test of the major villains. This is not, however, the final look for them, but it is very close. Who are they? You'll just have to find out.

Who's this guy? That too remains to be seen, but you have seen him lurking around in the background.

Thanks for reading, everyone!

Take care,

OoT, OoT Updates (As usual ;D)

Wow, I was really not sure I was going to make this update. In fact, it's a bit early because I didn't have it done over the weekend as I usually do. So I've posted it as soon as I completed it.

I'm a little worried about SoM, however. I don't have the next update done, I don't even have the set built yet. Yikes. Hopefully I'll get it for Friday as usual. Things are just not progressing as well as I'd like this week.

Sometimes I feel like the Sims got the joke and I missed out on it. :D

Happy Thanksgiving for those in the U.S.!

Thank you for reading!

Just What are My Stories?

More people seem to be finding their way here, and that's great, welcome! But I realize that since this is just a place where my two stories come together, it would be wise to explain the differences.

They do have some things in common, such as sexual themes, some tasteful pixel semi-nudity, occasional strong language, and in some cases, violence. But since I'm not a violent person, it's seriously only when necessary within the confines of the story, and generally villain initiated.

Sea of Moons is a Fantasy story that takes place on a completely different world. Dagon exists in another galaxy where all sorts of races live in harmony, or not, and magic and technology appear equally in everyday life. The story mostly centers around the inhabitants of the Sea of Moons on the continent of Neith. The Sea of Moons consists of a series of islands where refugees from all over Neith have started to gather to make a new life for themselves. For the most part, the storylines center around Kerrin Draonight and Lessa Orrissus, Nanda Ves'ton, Telaan Torus and Xavier Quaendis. Although there are storylines that will have a beginning, middle and end, there will be many storylines involving these characters and others from the Sea of Moons. This is a continuing story involving these people's lives.

If Fantasy is not your thing, and you like something more grounded in reality, or at least as close as I can get, then Lachesis' Tales are probably more to your liking. These are planned to be short stories, or somewhat short stories, that center around what we know and where we are. Although time travel, which is the topic of Out of Touch, Out of Time, and genetic mutation, which is the topic of Just Call it Magic (coming after OoT, OoT completes), are not everyday occurrences, they are still not in the Fantasy genre. More along the lines of romantic paranormal. And, it seems I'll never be able to leave my romance roots, as JCIM is also a romance. So I guess, if you are a hopeful romantic, then Lachesis' Tales is also for you.

Either way, I hope this makes the differences between the two sites clearer.

As always,
Thank you for reading!

The Littlest Things Can Baffle Me

Okay, I admit it, I don't know what a northern beach looks like, I don't go to the beach. I've never gotten over my aversion to the one near where I live since a friend in high school (in the 70's) had a cut get severely infected after swimming at our local beach. I understand the area is better these days, but things learned young stick.

So, when I decided to do the scene that will cover the next few chapters, I had an almost impossible time just getting started because I needed a beach. I usually, with a few exceptions, build my own buildings and lots in order to get the look I want. So after looking at the empty lot, bulldozing it and putting it back endlessly, I gave up and checked the web for a lot I could download. I admit, I didn't scour the web, but where I did look seemed to only have tropical lots available. We don't have palm trees in the north. :P

Finally, I looked at some pictures of beaches in northern states and decided, simple and sweet. So, that's what I did, simple and sweet, and it worked out fine; and Chapter 10 was added to Out of Touch, Out of Time on time (much to my relief.)

Thank you everyone for reading!

(Just back from getting Mansion & Garden SP and picked up the new Nickelback while I was there :D)

Sea of Moons Updated

The Valley Part 1 is up at Sea of Moons.

Behind the Scenes at Sea of Moons:

I just thought I'd share a small tidbit about how A Vampire's Tale came about.

(If you're not up to date on the story, there are spoilers ahead, so be aware when you read :D)

I was watching the Sims I'd already created at the Sea of Moons tell me their story when somewhere along the way, I remembered how much I love angst ridden vampires and decided to create Kerrin. When I'm creating a character, I do a character sheet where the character tells me their story in first person so I can get their "voice". I knew Kerrin's love was murdered, thus that would lead to a vampire that kept to himself and drank too much.

So, one Sunday morning I sat down to do the character sheet and by the end of the day, A Vampire's Tale was completely written. I've never done that before, or since, unfortunately. I then decided to post it at the Sims2 Community Forum in hopes that it would show people that my story exists on the web.

Spoilers from this point on

Well, it didn't take me long to realize that people actually seemed to like it (something that, I admit, always amazes me :D), but I kept telling my husband that they were going to get pissed when I killed Lassirra. It didn't seem to matter that I told the reader very little about her beyond what Kerrin believed about her, because I knew she had to die. Well, I posted her death, and I was proved correct. Immediately, my rating dropped and nearly all the comments stopped. :)

However, by then I'd decided that Lassirra was one of the best Sims I'd ever created; she was perfect for Kerrin, so I didn't really want to kill her off either. But, if she didn't die, then Kerrin had no angst, and didn't have a reason to over drink. Well, I was torn for days. Finally, I sat down and wrote what I call at the forum, Lassirra's Tale, or the Epilogue.

So there, Lassirra/Lessa was never supposed to be. But because of Kerrin's love, she lived. But I don't think I've made it too easy for him, however, he'll still have to win her love again, if he can, if she's not too scarred from her experience with Lornus; if being a seer isn't too much for her to handle.

Thank you for reading.

It's Wednesday, OoT, OoT Chapter Nine is Up

Chapter Nine

This time I want to point to the creator of the house I use for Cheyenne's home. It's a beautiful house, perfectly landscaped that I'm afraid I destroyed to give the appearance of a hundred plus years of decay. I've even unintentionally removed the woodwork from the parlor/living room. I hadn't planned to do that. I only noticed when I was going over the pictures already taken and uploaded that I'd picked a wall color that had no trim. Oops, I hadn't meant to remove that much of the original architecture. :P

Anyway, it's ash3sandgh0sts Stately Mansard available at Mod The Sims 2. The house really plays well, I use it for one of my main characters that lives in Anil in the Sea of Moons - there it's been allowed to remain beautiful. :) I don't always play within the Sea of Moons; but the neighborhood is set up that way, not just as a storytelling vehicle, and I do play there from time to time. I usually play to get story ideas.

You might think this picture is a sign of things to come, who knows? But, in reality, I just really liked it and couldn't use it. :D

Something Extra:

After playing Sea of Moons and its restricted non-EA format, I realized I missed the weird and stupid EA characters and places, especially since I'd gotten AL and never really saw everything available. So, I've started a play neighborhood that lets the EA characters run rampant. :D

Recently, I took the Sim I was playing to Twikkii Island for fun and while she was digging for treasure at one of the ruins this happened (the pictures are washed out because of the lightning strikes causing the screen to turn white):

I heard the clap of thunder, the scream and sizzle sound of someone getting struck by lightning and looked around and saw her. Notice the Sim sitting next to her.

I took the picture and went back to Ninia who was still digging for treasure. No more than a shovel full later, I again heard the familiar sounds of lightning striking a Sim and looked again.

Notice, this is the Sim that was sitting next to the first woman. I guess in EA's world, lightning does strike twice in the same place.

If I could have, I would have told the guy jumping in to go somewhere else. :D

Ninia finally got her hole dug, but she didn't have much luck with her project either.

Acantha, Part 2, Hidden Truths Added

Sea of Moons as usual has updated! Hidden Truths is answering a few questions that have plagued Lessa, but raising more.

I want to mention the beautiful park and the buildings you can see across the street in this update. They are from Around the Sims2, The Paris buildings. Sandy's buildings are beautiful and I knew even when I was writing this scene that those buildings would make up Acantha and that would be the fountain Lessa was sitting at.

I added the columns from Parsimonious, but everything else is Around the Sims2.

Thank you everyone for reading.

OoT, OoT Updated

Okay, Chapter Eight is up at OoT, OoT. If all goes well, this will be its regular night to update, and I'm really hoping for it to go regular. Unfortunately, I don't have next week's done yet, but that shouldn't be too terribly hard, I hope.

A little trivia, for those with the BV EP - the lady with the purple hair is Trisha Traveler :D.

Don't ask, I was manipulating using cheats. :D

Thank you for reading.
